Are your fish fresh or frozen

Our fish are 'fresh' in the sense that, the sea-to-door time is usually below 48 hours. By default we freeze the fish for you, right after it hits the shore and cleaned - this ensures that the freshness is locked in, and the seafood are not left unfrozen and degrading through the journey to your doorstep.

What exactly happens after ordering?

Once we have received your order, we will let the our own fishermen know. We select the best fish from the catch, gut & clean them, then pre-freeze for you right after the process to lock in the freshness before delivering to you. When you receive the fish, they could still be swimming in the sea in the same morning!

How are your wild fish different from those from other regions?

Our boats are generally smaller, hence each fishing trip is usually below 36 hours - compared to the 14 days in areas like Sekinchan / Kuala Selangor / Mersing / Gelang Patah / Pulau Ketam. The result is that the seafood are extremely fresh. When you receive your seafood, the fish could still possibly be swimming in the sea in the morning!

Why should I buy from The Fish Club Pontian when I can just get from my local markets in my hometown?

Pontian fish tend to the be freshest compared to others parts of Malaysia, mainly because our fishing boats make shorter trips - usually within 36 hours, compared to places like Kuala Selangor & Sekinchan where the trips are around 2 weeks to 1 month. We highly encourage you to try the difference. No harm trying right? =)
